Squid Game’s Dalgona Candy

1. Prepare your baking sheet near your heating station.
2. Heat sugar on medium to medium-high in small sauce pan to melt completely. Stir with rubber spatula constantly to make sure it fully melts (if it crystallizes it’s ok, it will all melt completely). Make sure to take off heat if it starts to smoke/gets too hot. Melt until very light yellow.
3. Add baking soda to melted sugar & continue to stir 'til it thickens & turns into a light caramel color (this will happen rapidly). Quickly take off the heat & pour onto your baking sheet. Scrap off the rest with your rubber spatula (be careful as the dalgona can burn really fast at the bottom of the saucepan).
4. Let it cool for 15 to 20 sec. Dip cookie cutter in shallow oil & lightly press it down into the dalgona. Remove cookie cutter & let cool.

Note:

- Be extremely careful when handling hot sugar, do not touch the candy without it being completely cool.

- If you want to make honeycomb candy just add another punch of baking soda for a stronger chemical reaction, be careful as the bottom of the pan will burn faster.
